The atmosphere and decor set the tone for a great (early) afternoon of tasting. Staff were very approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. Took their time to explain the intricacies of whisky making and tasting. Made some terrific recommendations for us to taste and even bought a bottle upon leaving. Will visit again for sure.
Very nice, hugely comfortable chairs and some very nice whisky. Unfortunately it's also about the most expensive I've come across. Price for their cheapest 500ml is similar to a lot of other 750ml single malts. It's very good but that good?
Lark whiskey speaks for itself. The service and knowledge of the staff is top notch 👌 very rustic and low key atmosphere which is great and compliments the whiskey nicely. Located right near the whalf so if arriving on a cruise it's a perfect way to kill a few hours and learn about whiskey 🥃
As a tourist it was hard to find time to visit this place. Their hours are 12-7 every day - not exactly whisky drinking hours, at least for me. But we made it by and glad we did. Bartenders are well informed about the whisky, I got a full education with the flight I had (highly recommend that route). The whisky itself is astonishingly good, as we found over most of Tasmania. Subdued, sophisticated but approachable atmosphere. Be advised, entrance is not on street front. We had to wind our way through an alley and past a delivery truck to find the front door.
Wow wow wow! Australian whisky has come a long way and what a way to spend Tassie Whisky Week than heading to where the Tassie Whisky Legends all began! Sensational atmosphere and tasting flights and some sensational bottles to take home.
It was so awesome we came back a week later to sample the new range. Love the flights, there’s something for every whiskey drinker from $ to $$$$. The young lady, Nikki, was exceptional, knowledgeable, and made the experience memorable. (If you’re not a fan of whiskey there is a Hobart brewing co beer and a delicious whiskey liqueur only.)
really great experience doing a whisky and gin tasting. the space is AMAZING and the liquor is too.
don’t miss this stop on your tour of tasmania.
Another nice place to try local whisky. The whisky options are endless. This place gets busy, so please be patient with the staff they are doing their best.
